Are You
Ready for Some Football Ridgeway?
Sixty boys at RCBHS said yes to that question in March, when a sign-up
sheet/petition was circulated throughout the student body.
Principal Lou Vescio and Head Coach Calvin Nigh are proud to announce
the RCBHS Blue Devils will be on the gridiron this September for the
first time since 1974.
Excitement for the upcoming season is building at the school. The boys
and student body are looking forward to reviving the winning traditions
that were established by teams of the past. Plans are in the works for
day to honour some of the teams and players that made RCBHS a
powerhouse in the 60's and 70's.
A football team at RCBHS provides all types of student-athletes with a
rich opportunity to playa team sport that requires mental toughness,
physical endurance, and strength of character. Community support has
been tremendous so far, and we look forward to forging strong
relationships between the businesses and service clubs in the Greater
Ridgeway Area.
Football requires a big start-up cost and students will be fund-raising
throughout the community to acquire enough money for equipment and
transportation. Players will be selling chicken, hosting barbeques, car
washes etc. in the next 3 months. Any assistance members of the
community could give them would be appreciated.
Help keep our RCBHS Spirit alive and healthy!
Regards, Mr. Nigh.
